COVA + CSLE

The COVA model is very appealing to me.  It is having an impact on my own learning in the Ed Tech program.  I believe it is expanding my own concepts, vision, and understanding of effective education.  I am experiencing changes in how I look at my own teaching.  I believe I am pivoting more to a learner centered way of teaching with even more focus of what is best for the student and how to engage and reach more students in a deeper more impactful way.  I believe the COVA model challenges more traditional teaching models just as it is challenging me to let go of control and relinquish more control to the students.  To me this is a big part of the teacher moving from a teacher centered approach to being more of a facilitator or coach.  This release of control is what challenges me most and I believe is what will be most beneficial.  Through this I am encouraged to think and step out of the box, or my comfort zone.  As Corazza (2014) suggests to make that quick leap from our own box benefits us more than a lifetime of staying safe in our comfort zone of standard thinking. Two resources I have found that are going to help me this week and in the future in developing my own voice in e portfolio are my background in music and music education and a presentation  design site I came across called Prezi.  I loved what this site has to offer in presentations that help you communicate your ideas.  I am going to rely heavily on my background as a musician and my growth and perseverance from learning my craft.
